World Champion Wants Dream Match With AJ Styles

Everyone wants a piece of AJ Styles.

Despite being with WWE for almost a decade and being a multiple-time World Champion, it was with TNA where AJ Styles made his name.

Along with the likes of Samoa Joe, Styles put the company on his back between 2002 and 2014, establishing himself as one of the best wrestlers in the world. The reputation eventually took him to the top of NJPW and then to WWE.

In more recent times, a new generation has emerged in TNA, and this has seen Mike Santana rise to the top of the company. Santana won the World Championship at Bound For Glory, finally beating NXT star Trick Williams in the main event.

During an appearance on The Stunner, Santana reflected on his TNA run to date and reiterated that he’d love to cap things off with a match against Styles.

“Honestly, I have one dream match left. I’ve been thankful and blessed enough in my career to have worked with some amazing people and a lot of guys that I grew up watching and idolizing. But the one guy that’s left is AJ Styles. Yeah, and I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, I wanna wrestle AJ Styles one-on-one in a TNA ring for the world title.”

Different TNA Star Tipped For AJ Styles Match

In an earlier interview, Mustafa Ali said that Leon Slater should be the TNA star in line for a match with AJ Styles. Ali explained that while he’d obviously want to have the match himself, he feels a match with Slater would be a bigger statement for the company.

Styles made his surprise return to TNA at Slammiversary, where he congratulated Slater after he beat Moose to claim the X-Division Championship.

Although Styles hasn’t given a formal retirement date, he remains adamant that he won’t wrestle beyond the end of 2026.
