William Regal Appears For First Time Since WWE Return
William Regal has appeared publicly for WWE for the first time since returning to the company as he makes a big announcement about an NXT star.
William Regal was released by WWE in early 2022 as Vince McMahon cleared the decks of NXT with Triple H out of action due to his serious heart issue. However, if a week is a long time in politics, then a year is a lifetime in wrestling with Regal returning to the company in January 2023 – just days before Vince McMahon forced his way back onto WWE’s Board.
During his time away from WWE, Regal joined AEW where he formed the Blackpool Combat Club. However, towards the end of 2022 with Triple H back in control in WWE, it became clear that Regal was on his way back to his former employer. Tony Khan granted Regal his wish but it came with a caveat that the English star couldn’t appear on WWE TV within the time that his original AEW contract ran for.
