Will Ospreay Wants A Match With Seth Rollins – “I Would Love To Do It”
Will Ospreay is still interested in wrestling Seth Rollins.
A few weeks ago, Ospreay expressed his desire to face Rollins in the ring. It appears that this desire is growing as Ospreay has said the same thing once again.
The reason for the same story coming up again from Ospreay is because he believes that there is a narrow window of opportunity right now for such a match to happen.
With WWE’s future uncertain given Vince McMahon’s involvement, and with WWE appearing to be more lax when it comes to both acknowledging non-WWE wrestlers and letting its wrestlers compete elsewhere, Will Ospreay thinks that this is his chance to wrestle one of WWE’s biggest stars.
Speaking on an episode of The Sessions with Renee Paquette, Will Ospreay elaborated on his intense enthusiasm for wrestling Rollins:
“I would love to do it. I liked Seth before he was Seth. I liked him when he was Tyler Black. I used to think he was a good wrestler in Ring of Honor, and I think he still is a good wrestler. So if there was a chance of making it work, I’d absolutely love to make it work.
“It’s just, we are bound by contractual obligations that say that we can’t do it. But I don’t know. I feel like the doors are slowly opening to other exports, and maybe things can happen here and there.
But I don’t know. A little bit, like someone opened a window, but not the good window, like that little small bathroom [window].”
Will Ospreay and Seth Rollins have never met in the ring. By the time Ospreay wrestled his first match in April 2012, Rollins was already the top wrestler in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), which was WWE’s developmental brand before it was transformed into NXT.
However, the two did trade barbs in a Twitter war of sorts back in 2019 that involved condescending comments, bank account comparisons, and some snide remarks that reflected poorly on both of them.
