Will Ospreay Gives Stark Advice To AEW Prospect
IWGP United States Champion Will Ospreay has offered advice to one of AEW’s brightest prospects and compared him to a younger version of himself.
At GCW I Never Liked You on June 19th, Will Ospreay took on AEW’s youngest-ever signee, 16-year-old Nick Wayne.
The pair went all out in an instant classic with Wayne taking Will Ospreay to the limit with fast-paced and high-flying offence that was reminiscent of the Commonwealth Kingpin himself back in his Junior Heavyweight days.
However, Ospreay was too much for the youngster and a Hidden Blade to the side of his head put him down for the three-count.
Following the match, Will Ospreay showed his respect for Nick Wayne by raising his hand. He then took the mic to praise the star, but also joked he should get a better hero as Ospreay can “be an a*se sometimes”.
After the show, Ospreay took to Twitter to give Wayne advice, saying that he hopes the youngster turns out “nothing like” him, but rather “way better”.
“Whoever it is that will be assigned to look after you goes above & beyond the line of duty.
“I wish I had someone there to take care of me & maybe stop me from becoming my worst enemy
“Today was like looking into my past I honestly hope you turn out nothing like me but way better”
