Will Ospreay has earned his 31st five-star-rated match.

At IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory, Ospreay took on Mike Bailey in one of the most anticipated matches for the promotion in recent memory. In the end, it was Ospreay who got the win in just under 18 minutes.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer awarded the match 5.25 stars. The match was Ospreay’s 31st match rated five star stars or above in total and seventh in 2023.

The match is also the first to hit five stars or above in IMPACT Wrestling/TNA in 18 years, and only the second to do so in company history.

Will Ospreay Leaving The Door Open For WWE And IMPACT Wrestling

In February 2024, Will Ospreay will become a free agent and speculation around his future is already dominating the headlines. The British star is coming off the back of arguably the best in-ring year of his career in 2023 and is attracting major attention from every wrestling promotion on the planet.

For several months a move to AEW appeared the most likely given the schedule and Ospreay’s existing working relationships, but things might not be that simple.

Speaking ahead of his match with Baily, Ospreay hinted that he could move to IMPACT, while he’s also more open to living in the United States than he had been in the past. It was believed this was a major stumbling block in preventing a deal with WWE.

Unsurprisingly, WWE is said to be “very, very interested” in doing a deal with the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
