Will Ospreay Issues Huge NJPW Challenge

Will Ospreay

Will Ospreay is heading to AEW in 2024 but with a huge Wrestle Kingdom match ahead of him, he wants another shot at an old rival.

Will Ospreay signed a deal with AEW at Full Gear but he still has his sights set on competing in Japan on occasion moving forward.

Ospreay was the final IWGP US/UK Champion before that championship was declared dead by NJPW with a new IWGP Global Championship being introduced at Wrestle Kingdom 18. Will Ospreay will compete for that title in a three-way match with Jon Moxley and David Finlay.

Will Ospreay Wants Kazuchika Okada

Speaking in an interview for Wrestle Kingdom, Ospreay was so confident that he’ll win in the Tokyo Dome on January 4th that he issued a challenge to Kazuchika Okada to face him for the IWGP Global Title at Battle In The Balley in San Jose, California on January 13th.

Kazuchika Okada defeated Will Ospreay at both Wrestle Kingdom 15 and 16 and in the final of the 2022 G1 Climax tournament. However, the last time the two stars faced off was in the 2023 G1 Climax with Ospreay picking up the win over his former CHAOS teammate.

NJPW has revealed the full card for Wrestle Kingdom 18 where Okada will face AEW star Bryan Danielson in a rematch from Forbidden Door.
