Will Ospreay Didn’t Enjoy Working With WWE Hall Of Famer
Will Ospreay has reflected on one of the more unusual matches of his career and admits he really didn’t like getting in the ring with WWE Hall of Famer, Vader.
One of the more unusual matches of Will Ospreay’s stellar career took place in 2016 when he faced former WCW and IWGP World Champion Vader. The story behind the match began on social media when Vader took exception to a famed NJPW match between Ospreay and Ricochet that the ex-WWE star likened to “a gymnastics routine.”
Despite the obvious distaste for Will Ospreay’s wrestling style, the two men were able to get into the ring together at a RevPro show in London, England but Ospreay didn’t enjoy the experience.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Will Ospreay revealed that he was not a fan of working with Vader and that the WWE Hall of Famer reneged on plans for the English star to pick up the win:
“I mean, like I don’t, I didn’t like the Vader one. And I don’t like speaking ill of like him because now he’s passed. But like I really just didn’t enjoy it. It was just like it wasn’t, there was like an agreement put in place and then he like pulled it whatever because he didn’t want to f*cking do the job and it was a whole lot of things but he was just unpleasant to work with.
“But like I wish him no harm I wish, I hope his family are all good and everything just because like it’s not easy like losing like a father or anything along those lines. So he’s just like, I don’t like to be that, but I just didn’t enjoy it. Chris Hero enjoyed it.”
Will Ospreay will be part of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Dominion event on the 4th of June where he faces Lance Archer for the right to challenge Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States Championship.
