Will CM Punk Finally Address AEW Chaos?
CM Punk was back in a wrestling ring with a live microphone in his hand on Monday Night Raw and the world was waiting to hear exactly what he had to say.
CM Punk made his shock return to WWE at Survivor Series, marking his first appearance in the company since walking out in early 2014.
The return comes less than three months after CM Punk was unceremoniously fired by AEW for his part in a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In. That was not Punk’s first backstage fight in the company as he was also involved in a brawl with The Elite after All Out in September 2022.
With all the drama from that stint in his career behind him, fans were hoping for some candid comments from Punk when he appeared on Raw in Nashville, but none were forthcoming. Instead CM Punk spoke of the love he has received since returning to the place he called home. The most notable part of his promo came when he briefly seemed to acknowledge Seth Rollins’ furious reaction to his return, something that is believed to be leading to a storyline between the two stars.
CM Punk Won’t Be Discussing AEW
Haus of Wrestling has now reported that those hoping for some AEW bashing or biting remarks about his former employer might well be disappointed. The report notes that Punk is hoping to move past the drama of his time in AEW and has no plans to address what happened during his run there.
It should be noted that Tony Khan claims he can’t legally speak about CM Punk when asked about the former AEW World Champion but it is not known if Punk would be legally bound to not speak ill, or at all, about AEW as well.
