Which WWE Star Rejected An Excellent Offer From AEW

Triple H WWE

One current WWE star had a good offer to stay in AEW according to Dave Meltzer after their recent return.

Andrade was released by WWE back in March 2021 after requesting to leave the company after a stint that saw him win both the NXT and United States Championships.

The Mexican star debuted for AEW just three months later at the end of his non-compete period but his time in Tony Khan’s company was plagued with controversy. Andrade was involved in a backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara just a few weeks after CM Punk’s infamous fight with The Elite at All Out. Many believed that Andrade was already looking for a way out of the company back then.

Andrade’s AEW deal ended at the end of 2023 and his final match in the company came at Worlds End when he was screwed by his manager CJ Perry who helped her husband Miro pick up a win.

Andrade Turned Down AEW Offer To Rejoin WWE

Andrade made his shock return to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble but it seems he had options to consider. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer responded to someone on social media who suggested Tony Khan had let Andrade walk away from AEW, noting that the Mexican star had a good offer to stay put:

Andrade was given a good offer to stay. He decided to leave.

Andrade has not yet had his second match back in WWE as of yet but after a recent backstage interaction with Dominik Mysterio, it seems a showdown between the two stars could be in their near future.
