When Miro Is Expected Back In WWE After AEW Exit

Miro

Miro is no longer part of AEW and it seems he could be back in WWE sooner rather than later.

Miro hasn’t wrestled in AEW since defeating Andrade El Idolo at AEW Worlds End on December 30th, 2023. The match was Andrade’s last for the company before returning to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble. Little did anyone know that would turn out to be Miro’s last in the company as well.

Miro was signed by Tony Khan’s promotion in September 2020 and he signed an extension in early 2022 that would have kept him in AEW until 2026 but that didn’t pan out. Miro asked for his release from the company in the fall of 2024 and AEW eventually released Miro in February 2025. The Bulgarian Brute was let go alongside other wantaway stars Ricky Starks, Malakai Black, and Rey Fenix.

Many fans expect Miro to return to WWE following his release where he was known as Rusev and it looks like that could happen by the end of the year.

Miro Expected In WWE In 2025

Speaking on the Backstage Pass podcast, WrestleVotes noted that despite Ricky Starks and Rey Fenix joining WWE right away, fans might have to wait a bit longer for Miro:

I’d expect Miro before the end of the year. I know there’s interest there. I don’t know if he’s ready to sign right now. Maybe, more of a summer or fall type of thing.

There has been a suggestion that Miro and CJ Perry’s supposed break-up was a sham and that the long-time couple never actually split up.
