What’s Going On With The 2025 WWE Draft?
What’s next for the WWE Draft?
WrestleMania has been and gone, and traditionally, this has meant that the annual Draft is just around the corner. However, the weeks continue to tick by, and WWE keeps announcing new events, but the future of the Draft remains a mystery.
Back on May 2, Wrestle Votes suggested that the Draft is still planned for some point in 2025, but fitting it into the schedule could prove difficult. Since this report, things have again gone quiet.
“The calendar gets a little tricky here. You’re going to get Backlash next week [May 10th]. You’re going to get Saturday Night’s Main Event two weeks after that, you’re going to get Money in the Bank two weeks after that… three weeks after that, you get the Saudi Arabia show. Then, a week after that, you get the rumored Evolution show. And then you calm down a bit before SummerSlam.
So there’s a lot going on. I don’t know exactly when and where they can pencil this Draft in, but I would expect one to happen,”
WWE Draft Still In The Works
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider in a new Q&A, there are still plans for the Draft; it’s just a matter of deciding when and where it will take place.
Since January, the brand split was all but called off for several top stars as they appeared on both Raw and SmackDown heading into WrestleMania. Meanwhile, main roster stars continue to appear in NXT as and when they’re needed.
Following WrestleMania, Nathan Frazer & Axiom were moved from NXT to SmackDown, while Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Roxanne Perez have also been called up. It’s been reported that Jordynne Grace and Ricky Saints will both be moved to the main roster in the coming weeks.
