What Triple H Wants Fans To Get Out Of WWE Unreal
Triple H believes that viewers watching WWE Unreal will gain a deeper appreciation for the performances of WWE superstars.
The five-part WWE docuseries called “WWE Unreal” debuted on Netflix this week. Each episode runs just under one hour, while the fifth episode goes over an hour and covers many of the big matches from WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
While many fans appreciate WWE Unreal for its unprecedented backstage access, critics argue that the show primarily showcases Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer and Head of Creative.
There is plenty of Triple H on WWE Unreal because much of the show is about the creative decisions that he makes with his team. There are many scenes that show Hunter talking to his creative team in the WWE offices, at shows, and in the arena. There are also many conversations shown between Hunter and various superstars, which shows that being a coach is part of Hunter’s job as well.
During his appearance on ESPN First Take, Triple H gave former WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley as an example of how fans will learn more about her by watching WWE Unreal.
“In this world of transparency, when you have athletes like Rhea Ripley who many see as this larger than life, never would have a doubt character, going through the highs and the lows and the pressure and the self-doubt, overcoming those to go out and perform the way she does. I don’t know how it doesn’t make you appreciate her more as a performer or make you appreciate them more as athletes.”
“The Appreciation Level Increases” – Triple H
As he continued, Triple H made the point that a show like WWE Unreal is about giving fans more access to appreciate what superstars go through even more.
“I think when you see everything that goes into it, the appreciation level increases because of the passion at which everybody goes at this. Yes, they go through a lot, but they do it for the fans.
They do it to entertain. They do it because they love what they do and they’re amazing storytellers at all levels, not only verbally, but physically in a ring.”
