W. Morrissey Admits Making “Lots Of Mistakes” Prior To WWE Release
Former WWE star W. Morrissey has opened up on not being a good employee prior to being let go by the company.
When Morrissey, at the time known as Big Cass, aligned with Enzo Amore (nZo) they seemed to instantly click and shoot to stardom on NXT. Despite never holding the brand’s tag team gold, they were called up to the main roster after WrestleMania 32.
Things seemed to go south for the team soon after this, and the pair were split up just over a year later. W. Morrissey then tour his ACL which left him on the shelf for ten months, and it was just two months after his return that he was released by the company.
Now competing for IMPACT Wrestling, W. Morrissey spoke to Renee Paquette on The Sessions about his final run with WWE and how he made a lot of mistakes in a short period of time.
We [Renee and I] were doing rehearsals, and yeah, I feel like maybe there was a lot of stuff going on that day and I guess I must have made a comment like, ‘Are we going through the whole thing in rehearsal?’.
And I thought that maybe they just wanted to get the shot where we’re going to stand so you look way shorter than me, you know, tricks of the trade, and I said, ‘Are we going through the whole promo?’ because it was, it was like two pages long, and there’s a lot of stuff to rehearse that day, and there were a lot of big things going on and I don’t know, you knew better than me.
I don’t know what happened after that, I was already kinda not doing well and I was really not being a good employee and I was really not living up to my end of the bargain and I was making a lot of mistakes. And these came back to back to back to back, these weren’t six-month separated isolated incidents, it was all at once.
W. Morrissey was released just two days after losing to Daniel Bryan at Money in the Bank 2018, with reports that he was let go due to being intoxicated on a live tour and ignoring direct requests from Vince McMahon.
It wasn’t just McMahon the duo rubbed up the wrong way, as Morrissey also recently discussed how they angered Triple H at a major WWE event.
