Vince McMahon’s SmackDown Absence Leads To WWE Morale Shift

Vince McMahon

At Monday Night Raw following WrestleMania, Vince McMahon was large and in charge following the news that Endeavor was to take over WWE but his absence on SmackDown was said to have caused a change of mood backstage – even if a cautious one.

On the day that WWE announced a deal with Endeavor to be taken over by the company, Vince McMahon was said to be “firmly back in charge” at Monday Night Raw in Los Angeles.

Triple H had taken over creative duties since McMahon announced his retirement in July 2022 but now that McMahon will be kept on as Executive Chairman of WWE’s new parent company once the deal is finalized with Endeavor, many believe that he is slowly but surely taking back over from his son-in-law.

McMahon’s presence at Raw was said to have struck a blow to morale in the company but Fightful Select has noted that the situation was said to have “significantly improved” at SmackDown with McMahon absent from that show. However, there is said to be a “we’ll see what happens” attitude regarding him.

Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel recently explained how important Vince McMahon was to him in wanting to deal with WWE so it seems like the Executive Chairman will be given as much power as he wants in the new company.
