Vince McMahon Tried To Buy Damning Netflix Documentary
The eagerly awaited Vince McMahon documentary series is on its way but it seems the ex-WWE chairman tried to shelve the project completely.
Netflix will premiere the Vince McMahon docuseries on September 25th with the entire wrestling world holding its breath to see exactly what is revealed about the discovered about the disgraced ex-chairman of WWE.
Vince McMahon has already taken a swipe at the documentary makers claiming that he has been misrepresented. However, McMahon’s statement also confirmed that the series will cover the lawsuit filed against McMahon by a former WWE employee accusing him of sexual assault and sex trafficking.
Vince McMahon’s Downfall To Be Covered By Netflix
Now Puck has reported that after seeing early cuts of the series McMahon was not impressed and had tried to buy the project back from Netflix. McMahon is also said to have urged Endeavor boss Ari Emanuel to speak up for him as he also voiced concern over the film’s focus on the “Mr. McMahon” character.
All this is believed to have taken place before the news of the lawsuit being filed by Janel Grant broke but after initial speculation caused McMahon to briefly retire from WWE in 2022. That lawsuit news also came just a few days after Netflix confirmed a multi-billion dollar deal with WWE for Raw.
Netflix refused to let go of the project and as it stands it will be released and cover the lawsuit as well as Vince McMahon being forced to resign as Executive Chairman of TKO as a result.
