Vince McMahon “Didn’t See” AEW Talent In WWE

One AEW talent never signed with WWE because Vince McMahon just didn’t see them as a fit.

Christopher Daniels has made waves in any company he’s been a part of becoming a major name in the early days of TNA before later in his career becoming Ring of Honor World Champion amongst a host of other championships and accolades.

One place Daniels never could get his foot through the door, however, was Vince McMahon’s WWE. The Fallen Angel competed in some enhancement matches between 1998 and 2001 for the company but was never signed to a deal.

Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross – who worked as WWE’s Head of Talent Relations at the time – explained why Daniels was overlooked by Vince McMahon:

“Just Vince didn’t see it. He didn’t feel it. You know, Chris is not the biggest dude in the fight, but he’s a tremendous talent. Very skilled. It’s just that one guy. And I also don’t know. I don’t know what Russo thought of Christopher Daniels. If it had been brought to me, and they said, ‘We want you to hire Christopher Daniels because we have an idea created for him,’ I’d have no problem with that because he’s a good guy. He’s a soldier. And he’s a good worker – could work a lot of different styles.

“But that never came across my purview. I know we brought him in for a tryout and I don’t recall it being bad. He’s kind of a who’s known as kind of a high spot guy. But he could work as well. So just didn’t work out for him. I guess there’s all I can say there. If it had come across my desk and ‘Hey JR get a hold of Christopher Daniels we want you to sign him,’ I would have done it in a heartbeat.”

Vince McMahon lost another star from WWE

Christopher Daniels is now Head of Talent Relations for AEW and his phone may be ringing after a WWE star confirmed that they have now left the company. Lacey Evans hinted that her time with WWE was set to be over and it has now been confirmed that she is now a former star of the company with her contract expiring.
