Vince McMahon Backstage At June 5th WWE Raw
It has been reported that Vince McMahon is backstage at WWE Monday Night Raw for the first time in about two months.
Prior to July 2022, Vince McMahon being backstage at Raw was a non-story because the man created the show in 1993 and ran the show for nearly 30 years.
However, Vince McMahon “retired” in July 2022 due to a sex scandal involving nearly $20 million in hush-money payments to numerous women over the last 20 years. That scandal led to Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who is Vince’s son-in-law, taking over the creative direction of the company, much to the delight of a lot of WWE fans.
At the start of 2023, Vince unretired and was appointed as the Executive Chairman of WWE with Vince intending to sell the company. That sale happened on Monday, April 3rd when Endeavor announced they had acquired WWE in a monster deal worth $21 billion (about $9 billion for WWE) that would see Endeavor run WWE and the UFC together.
On the day of the sale announcement, Vince McMahon made heavy changes to the April 3rd post-WrestleMania Raw, which angered a lot of fans that thought it was the worst Raw episode of the year and the worst since Vince retired.
For the first time since that post-WrestleMania Raw, Vince McMahon is backstage at tonight’s edition of Raw in Hartford, CT according to PWInsider.
Since WWE’s offices are in Stamford, CT, it is not a major surprise that Vince would make the trip to Hartford since it’s in the same state.
It was also mentioned in the PWInsider report that “there are a LOT of other WWE office executives” at tonight’s Raw as well.
There will likely be more news coming out of this story with Vince McMahon being backstage at Raw for the first time in two months, so we’ll have updates as they come.
