Update On WWE’s “Hesitancy” Over Seth Rollins & New World Title
Seth Rollins is one win away from capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but after being spotted on the set of a new Marvel movie, there is said to be hesitancy about Rollins capturing the gold but that might not be the case after all.
Seth Rollins booked his place in the final of the tournament to crown a new world champion when he overcame a triple threat match that also featured Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura before defeating Finn Balor on the 8th of May edition of Raw.
Rollins will take on AJ Styles for the gold at Night of Champions on May 27th in Saudi Arabia but the star also has his hands full with a role outside of wrestling. Seth Rollins was spotted on the set of Marvel’s Captain America: New World Order after apparently joining the movie as part of the villainous Serpent Society. His role caused his appearance on Raw on the 15th of May to be pre-recorded.
WRKD Wrestling originally reported that while those in WWE are happy for Rollins branching out into the movie world, it may be causing second thoughts about making him the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. However, now they have followed up suggesting that any hesitancy isn’t for the immediate future and extends to Rollins’ wife Becky Lynch who has also appeared in some acting roles recently:
“Clarifying a prior report: we’d said that there was “hesitancy” to put the new title on Seth Rollins, due to his role in the new Captain America film. However, its been made clear this isn’t an immediate fear, but for the future, should he & Becky Lynch further pursue Hollywood”
Seth Rollins does have history with firsts in WWE given that he was the first man to ever be crowned NXT Champion. Rollins was also part of the match to find the inaugural Universal Champion back in 2016 but lost out on that occasion to Finn Balor.
