“Hesitancy” To Put New WWE Title On Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is one win away from capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but after being spotted on the set of a new Marvel movie, there is said to be hesitancy about Rollins capturing the gold.

Seth Rollins booked his place in the final of the tournament to crown a new world champion when he overcame a triple threat match that also featured Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura before defeating Finn Balor on the 8th of May edition of Raw.

Rollins will take on AJ Styles for the gold at Night of Champions on May 27th in Saudi Arabia but the star also has his hands full with a role outside of wrestling. Seth Rollins was spotted on the set of Marvel’s Captain America: New World Order after apparently joining the movie as part of the villainous Serpent Society. His role caused his appearance on Raw on the 15th of May to be pre-recorded.

WRKD Wrestling has now reported that while those in WWE are happy for Rollins branching out into the movie world, it may be causing second thoughts about making him the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion:

“Seth Rollins #WWERaw segment last night was pretaped due to filming @Marvel’s “Captain America: New World Order.” While many backstage are very happy for him, there is hesitancy when it comes to putting the new title on him should these roles continue.”

When Triple H announced the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship, he made clear that a big part of the reason for the new title was that Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns isn’t on every show. So it’s unlikely that the company would want to crown another world champion that couldn’t always be there to defend the gold.
