WWE legend Rikishi recently had emergency surgery.

The fans just found out that Rikishi underwent a serious six-hour emergency surgery that forced him to cancel several bookings, something he rarely does. The surgery caught everyone by surprise and was reportedly a wake-up call for the 60-year-old wrestling legend.

The WWE Hall of Famer opened up about his emergency surgery in the recent edition of his Off The Top podcast. He revealed the exact nature of the surgery but described it as life-changing, saying he woke up feeling like a “new person” and much stronger.

“I’m great. I’m great. You know, I’m not going to go into details about everything that happened and so forth, but you know me — the one thing I would never do is miss a booking, you know what I mean? For many years, that’s just a no-no for Big Ki.”

“But for me to be down, it was an emergency type of surgery, and I’m going to leave it at that. It took about six hours to be under the knife, and I woke up feeling great. You know what I mean? I just feel like a new person.”

WWE Hall Of Famer Rikishi Is Thankful To Be Alive

Rikishi admitted he often avoided hospitals and regular medical check-ups, which likely contributed to the severity of his condition. Thankfully, doctors identified the issue in time, and the surgery was successful.

Since the procedure, he has gained a new perspective on life, emphasizing gratitude and the importance of letting go of past grudges. He expressed thanks to fans, colleagues, and family for their support during this challenging time.

“I’m one of those guys that hates to go to the hospital… and it was just one of those things that was caught just in time. And with the grace of God and the surgeons that were there that day, I’m here today to sit and talk with you and say I love you.”

“I woke up feeling a different way when I got wheeled back to the room in the hospital — meaning just grateful. Things that I might have had beef with, who and who back in the day — I want to make all that right. There’s so much more to life than being upset at each other.”

“So I want to thank all the fans… Thank you to all my real ones out there. My co-workers, a lot of the roster that’s out there — thank you guys so much for the love and respect and checking up on me. But I am fine. Big Ki is here. I ain’t going nowhere anytime soon.”
