Samoa Joe is the current ROH World Television Champion that’s under contract to AEW and he’s set to return to television very soon according to a new report.

After Samoa Joe was released by WWE back in January, he found a new wrestling home in AEW. Joe appeared at the Tony Khan-owned ROH show called Supercard of Honor in April 2022. Joe also competed in AEW’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament and made it to the finals where he lost to Adam Cole at Double or Nothing in May.

That match at Double or Nothing was Joe’s last match in AEW, but he did retain his ROH TV Title against Jay Lethal at the ROH Death Before Dishonor show in July.

In an update on Joe’s return to AEW, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson has reported that Joe’s expected to return to AEW television sooner rather than later. Joe has been away from AEW television because he was filming the series “Twisted Metal” for Peacock over the last few months and filming has wrapped on the show. The show also stars Will Arnett, Stephanie Beatriz, Neve Campbell, Thomas Haden Church, and Anthony Mackie. Joe will star as Sweet Tooth in the series.

When Joe returns to AEW television he’ll join CM Punk and Kenny Omega as two other major stars that have recently made their returns, which will strengthen the AEW roster even more.

During his incredible career as a pro wrestler over the last 20+ years, Joe has won World Titles in promotions like TNA and ROH while also winning WWE’s US Title twice and he’s the only three-time NXT Champion as well.
