Update On Nick Aldis & WWE
Nick Aldis was backstage at WWE once again.
As reported by PWInsider and Fightful Select, Aldis was present at the August 21st taping of Monday Night Raw in Montreal, Quebec. This is the second time that Aldis has been backstage at the show since becoming a free agent following a first appearance on August 7th.
Aldis was likely continuing his tryout as a producer in the company, shadowing more experienced members of the production team before possibly committing to the role in the near future. Also working backstage is Robert Roode, who joins the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion in making the transition from in-ring competitor to potential future match producer.
Whether the decision of working in the backstage role was Aldis’ decision or not, many feel that the former IMPACT World Champion still has some in-ring time left in his career, and would love to see a WWE debut. Former General Manager Teddy Long believes that Aldis needs to be put in an onscreen role first if he were to sign with the company.
Will Nick Aldis Sign With WWE?
Following stints at NWA and IMPACT Wrestling, Aldis looks to have put his in-ring career on hiatus while negotiating either a full-time producer or potentially an onscreen role at Titan Towers. With arguments over not being paid and feeling betrayed by the powers that be at the National Wrestling Alliance, a return to the NWA looks very unlikely.
It should also be noted that nowhere has reported that Aldis has signed a deal with WWE at this time, still remaining a free agent.
