Matt Riddle could be returning from WWE soon following a stint in rehab as well as a suspension that was never officially announced by the company.

The last time Matt Riddle appeared on WWE TV since the December 5th edition of Raw when he was brutally attacked by Solo Sikoa with a steel chair.

While Solo’s attack on Riddle was a storyline explanation for a lengthy absence, the real reason is that Riddle failed a second WWE drug test, which led to the company making him go to rehab to get cleaned up. There were conflicting reports about the real reason for Riddle’s absence, but it is believed that the failed second WWE drug test and rehab story is true.

On Valentine’s Day earlier this week, Matt Riddle posted a photo with his girlfriend while noting that “I will see you all very soon” meaning his WWE TV return is likely happening soon.

In an update on Riddle’s current situation with WWE, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Riddle has been gone for well over 60 days at this point.

“Riddle has now been gone more than 60 days, which would be the suspension for a second drug test failure. He wasn’t gone 30 days for the first one, but was gone close to 30 days. His injury angle was 12/5 and they said he’d be gone for six weeks, but we’re not coming up on 11 weeks and on 2/3 he’d have been eligible to return.”

“His name is never mentioned, although when guys are out like that they usually don’t mention them so the return can be a surprise. It does mean the policy has changed because the company didn’t announce the suspension nor did they announce the alleged first one.”

During the peak of his WWE popularity, Matt Riddle was part of a Raw Tag Team Championship team with Randy Orton, who has been out since last May with a back injury. Orton is training to make his return while a report came out that a boot maker is fixing some new wrestling boots for Orton.
