Unusual Reason TNA Star Missed Out On Hall Of Fame Spot
Despite a big push for it backstage, TNA will be unable to induct Monty Brown into their Hall of Fame this year.
Earlier in October, the company announced that Rhino and longtime executive and TNA co-founder, the late Bob Ryder would be inducted into their Hall of Fame at Bound For Glory 2024. The two will join past inductees Raven, Awesome Kong, and Kurt Angle in the Hall, which was established in 2012 with the induction of Sting.
One star who has been omitted from the Hall of Fame is Monty Brown, but it wasn’t through a lack of trying on TNA’s part. According to Matt Hardy on his latest ‘Extreme Life’ podcast, the company had Brown under consideration, but couldn’t get hold of the former star. According to Hardy, he’s “off the grid.”
“I know there was a big push from a lot of the boys, and I’m down with this too, Monty Brown was someone that was up for consideration but it seemed like they were having a hard time getting ahold of Monty Brown, he’s off the grid it seems like.
“He would’ve been a really killer candidate too considering it was in Detroit.”
Matt Hardy Names WWE Hall Of Famer Who Had Big Influence On His Career
Matt Hardy recently praised WWE Hall of Famer Michael Hayes for the influence he had on his career. Hayes managed Matt and Jeff Hardy early in their WWE careers, and according to Hardy he had a lot of great ideas for them in the ring too. As an example, Hardy explained that Hayes thought up a lot of creative ideas when the Hardy Boyz took on Edge & Christian in their classic first Ladder Match.
