Unexpected Seth Rollins Match Added To Backlash
WWE is returning to Puerto Rico on May 6th when Backlash takes place in San Juan and now it has been confirmed that Seth Rollins will be on the card in a bout nobody expected.
The first bouts confirmed for Backlash were Brock Lesnar taking on Cody Rhodes in what is believed to be the show’s main event and The Bloodline – minus Roman Reigns – taking on WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn as well as Matt Riddle in a huge six-man tag team match.
On SmackDown in Columbus, Ohio a challenge was laid down by Zelina Vega to SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley for the event as the bad blood between The Judgment Day and the LWO continues to boil over.
Also on SmackDown, it was announced that Austin Theory would be defending his WWE United States Championship in Puerto Rico in a huge triple threat match that sees the champion take on both Bobby Lashley and Bronson Reed.
One more match was announced on SmackDown and that will see Seth Rollins – who defeated Logan Paul at WrestleMania before defeating The Miz on the 17th of April edition of Raw – take on the giant Omos.
Omos lost in quick fashion to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39 before defeating Elias in an even quicker fashion one night later on Raw. The match appears to have come out of thin air as Omos and Rollins have had no interaction on-screen in recent weeks.
The card for Backlash so far –
- Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
- Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Zelina Vega – SmackDown Women’s Title
- Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn & Matt Riddle vs. The Usos & Solo Sikoa
- Seth Rollins vs. Omos
