Two WWE stars have had their names changed.

On the December 22nd episode of SmackDown, Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza returned to the main roster. The pair who had previously been known as Los Lotharios, attacked The Street Profits, distracting Bobby Lashley, which helped Santos Escobar advance in the United States Tournament.

While competing in NXT in 2023 the pair were given their full names back, having had them shortened to “Angel and Humberto,” something that initially continued on SmackDown. However, WWE.com has now confirmed that their full names have been dropped once more.

During Vince McMahon’s tenure, it wasn’t uncommon for wrestlers to have their names shortened with the likes of Austin Theory and Matt Riddle having the second half of their names dropped. However, once Triple H assumed creative control, many of these changes were reversed.

Rey Mysterio Closing In On WWE Return

On the November 10th episode of SmackDown Escobar attacked Rey Mysterio, breaking away from the LWO. The attack served as a storyline way of writing Mysterio off television as he required surgery on a long-standing knee injury.

Speaking in a recent interview, Rey Mysterio revealed he was targeting a return at the Royal Rumble on January 27th.
