Two Massive Names Ruled Out As AEW’s Devil
While fans don’t know the identity of the masked attacker on AEW Dynamite, the big reveal is getting closer.
The now famous devil mask was first worn by MJF back at All Out in 2022 when he made his surprise return to AEW. The star’s return and victory in the Casino Royal Ladder Match seemingly set up a feud with CM Punk — who won the World Title later that night. However, the post-show brawl and wild press conference involving The Elite and Punk put plans on the back burner.
So naturally, when a mystery figure recently appeared on Dynamite wearing the mask, many fans wondered whether it could be setting the stage for a surprise return for Punk. To date, the masked intruder has attacked Jay White, and The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn after they teamed with MJF.
There have even been rumours that Britt Baker has performed as the devil, after throwing up devil horns in an AEW promo package with the women’s division.
In a new update, it’s been reported by Fightful Select that several people within AEW know who has been performing under the mask, and those under the mask will be used as part of the big reveal.
Those Fightful have spoken to believe it isn’t CM Punk, adding it would be a “huge work” on those “in the know” if it was. To confirm Punk hasn’t been wearing the mask at any point on AEW television.
Furthermore, Britt Baker hasn’t been under the mask either, and her recent comments aren’t part of an elaborate work.
CM Punk Teases AEW Comeback
Despite being fired in September, CM Punk has been having fun with the speculation that he could be ‘the devil.’
In a new post on social media, CM Punk shared a video of a WWE promo where he appeared as the devil ahead of Hell In A Cell in 2012 where he defeated Ryback to retain the WWE Championship.
