Trish Stratus & Lita “Way Beyond Their Prime” Says Ex-WWE Writer
A former WWE writer has launched a savage attack on the returning Trish Stratus and Lita, making it clear he doesn’t feel it’s right they’re there.
In a shocking turn of events, WWE Hall Of Famer Lita became Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Becky Lynch on the 27th February 2023 edition of Monday Night RAW, defeating the Damage CTRL pairing of IYO SKY and Dakota Kai.
One week later and the pair celebrated their victory, and were joined in the ring by one of Lita’s biggest friends and rivals from their time in WWE, Trish Stratus.
This has led to a tag team match being confirmed for WrestleMania 39, where Damage CTRL will take on Lita, Stratus and Lynch.
However, former WWE writer Vince Russo isn’t a fan of the decision to make the title switch. In a discussion on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Legion of RAW, Russo made it clear he feels the Hall Of Famers are well beyond their prime.
So last week, the babies won the title. This week the babies clear the heels out of the ring. So babies over two weeks in a row with three weeks left to go. Here’s the problem: you’re looking at the six women in the ring. You’ve got Lita and Trish that are way beyond their prime. They’re mothers, they’re way beyond their prime.
Continuing on, Vince Russo commented on why he feels it’s the wrong time to have someone like Lita as champion.
And you’ve got two girls, two women in the ring literally 15-20 years younger than they are. They’re not even in their league, but my point is they’re already not in their league. You can’t have the babies going over on them every week because now you’re wasting my time. At some point, they’ve got to get heat. They’re not in their league.
Trish Stratus also recently commented on her return to WWE.
