Triple H’s “Biggest Booking Mistake” Involves Roman Reigns And Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes Triple H WWE

As the Chief Content Officer, one of Triple H’s responsibilities is to develop character storylines.

While “The Game” may set up rivalries or give the clearance for someone else’s suggestions, not every booking gets the results as expected.

One of the biggest feuds in WWE since his assumption of the CCO post has been that of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.

Their rivalry began in early 2023 after Rhodes’ victory in the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble match.

As the “Tribal Chief” of the Bloodline, Reigns exerted dominance not only within the faction but on the SmackDown roster.

The duo main-evented two WrestleManias (WM 39 & 40), with Rhodes finally beating Reigns at WrestleMania 40 to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Their grudge, which lasted more than a year, was cinema to many fans.

Unfortunately, a former WCW wrestler calls Triple H’s booking involving the two superstars ‘the biggest mistake.’

Disco Inferno answered fan queries recently on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast.

When a fan asked what was his biggest mistake as WWE’s head booker, he cited the Reigns-Rhodes rivalry outcome as the one.

I think the mistake was having Cody Rhodes beat Roman Reigns because the show has been completely underwhelming since then…that story had a lot more longevity in it with Cody losing. [5:27 onwards]

Can Triple H Bring Brock Lesnar Back?

As the WWE’s CCO, Triple H holds certain powers.

Fans have often speculated about the return of Brock Lesnar to the company, even questioning The King of Kings’ role in it.

Lesnar has not been seen at the Stamford-based promotion since SummerSlam 2023.

He was also one of the individuals named in Vince McMahon’s lawsuit, which is primarily the reason behind his disappearance from TV.

Now, the power to bring him back does not lie with Triple H; only Lesnar’s lawyers can give him the go-ahead, according to Dave Meltzer.

Brock Lesnar was reported to return at Royal Rumble 2024, but the plan was scrapped due to the complications surrounding the lawsuit.
