Triple H has assured WWE talent he’s still running the creative team even though Vince McMahon is back in the mix.
It’s been a whirlwind week in WWE heading into Smackdown. With plenty of rumors about potential sales led by the return of Vince McMahon as Executive Chairman and Stephanie McMahon resigning from the company, there are questions about who is running the show in terms of the creative process.
There was a WWE talent meeting held before tonight’s edition of Smackdown in Green Bay. There are reports from PWInsider and Fightful Select regarding what was said in those meetings.
The PWInsider story noted that WWE Chief Operating Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque that Vince McMahon’s return to WWE was done to spearhead the search to see who the company should be sold to.
Fightful Select reported that Triple H also made an attempt to squash the story about the WWE sale being done while noting that even if it was done, it would take a lot longer for anything to be official or announced.
It was also mentioned by PWInsider that Triple H that this won’t lead to any changes with the current creative team that is led by him. Fighftufl added that Vince’s presence won’t lead to any changes in the creative process that Triple H has in place.
Triple H also added that while he and Vince McMahon may have discussions about things regarding the creative process, Hunter is the one that has the final say on WWE Creative. This was backed up by Fightful saying that people in WWE told them that Triple H will remain in charge of WWE’s creative team.
As the meeting wrapped up, Triple H also thanked the WWE talent for all they do and that he understood there was some concern regarding the news of the week.
There was also an additional note from Fightful Select saying that longtime WWE Executive Producer Kevin Dunn spoke at the meeting. Dunn talked about working for Vince for 40 years and Vince hasn’t said anything about making changes. Dunn also reiterated some of the things that Triple H said in the meeting.
