Triple H Urged To Have Major WWE Star Dethrone Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes retained his WWE Undisputed Championship against Drew McIntyre on Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.
The Scottish Warrior has been chasing the Undisputed WWE Championship for much of 2025, but his latest attempt against Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event ended in another gut-wrenching defeat. Once again, controversial circumstances and a referee distraction allowed The American Nightmare to retain the title, despite McIntyre having a huge stipulation advantage in the bout.
McIntyre is a talented star and has proved himself countless times in the ring, but every time he comes so close to winning the gold, he falls short for some reason. Fans and insiders think he deserves a top title run due to his talent, charisma, and overall presentation as a superstar. But Triple H is keeping him away from the spotlight, and this has started to irk a top veteran.
Konnan Wants To See Drew McIntyre Crowned As A Champion in WWE
Speaking on his podcast K100, Konnan expressed his frustration with Triple H holding back McIntyre’s momentum for so long. He emphasized that McIntyre is in excellent shape, looks like a star, and can talk effectively on social media, making him a perfect candidate for the title that Cody Rhodes currently holds.
I agree they should put the title on Drew McIntyre. Enough already, as Disco [Inferno] would say. Already in shape, looks like a star. Thank God they got rid of that cheesy sword that you knew he would never use; and it was named after his mother, something like that. Come on, dude. He can talk. He works social media perfectly. Bro, he’s all around perfect. Give him the title, let’s see what happens.”
Drew McIntyre’s last WWE Championship reign was on April 7, 2024, when he won the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 40. However, this reign was extremely short, lasting less than a day, as CM Punk attacked him immediately after the match, and subsequently, Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to take the title from McIntyre right away.
