WWE’s Chief Operating Officer and former wrestler, Triple H, shared his insights on life, calling it “a gift”.

In a candid tête-à-tête with his wife, Stephanie McMahon, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque discussed his heart issues. News broke out in September 2021 that HHH had suffered a serious cardiac event.

Later, WWE announced that Levesque underwent a successful heart surgery at the Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. Following the incident, he called the curtains on his in-ring wrestling career.

During the interaction, Stephanie looked taken aback and emotional, at one point, mentioning that he had never expressed these feelings to her. Here’s what ‘The Game’ said:

In this really, weird f***ed up way, like, my heart issue was a gift, made me see things in a different way. I’ve been looking at life differently. You can go through life, no matter how great it is, or all the things you’re doing, and then all of a sudden you partway through it, have a reset, and go like, holy s***, like, this doesn’t last forever. That’s stoic s***.

Triple H Always Carries A Special Memento

Triple H also showed a coin given to him by Stephanie, which had “Memento Mori” engraved on it. It reminds HHH that one can die at any second, that life can stop at any second. It also prevents him from getting carried away with the success he has achieved personally and as a leader of the company.

The 14-time World Champion last wrestled in June 2019 in Tokyo, where he partnered with Shinsuke Nakamura against Robert Roode and Samoa Joe. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2025. Triple H has been married to Stephanie McMahon since 2003 and has three daughters.
