Triple H Accused Of Lies Over Brock Lesnar’s WWE Return

WWE Triple H open mouthed

Serious doubt has been cast over Triple H’s claims about why Brock Lesnar really made his surprise return to WWE.

Brock Lesnar returned to WWE with a shock attack on John Cena just moments after Cena had lost his WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes.

Lesnar had not been seen since SummerSlam 2023, where he ironically lost to Rhodes. His absence from WWE came about as Brock Lesnar was implicated in the sexual abuse lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon by a former company employee.

Triple H Lays Brock Lesnar Blame At John Cena’s Door

Triple H [Paul Levesque] has suggested that Brock Lesnar’s return came at John Cena’s request, but that doesn’t seem to be the full story.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that Paul Levesque’s reasoning for Lesnar’s return doesn’t stack up:

When Levesque talked about it, it was such bullsh*t. “Well, John wanted to work with him…” You’ve got a whole roster of guys and honestly, for John to go out…the last person who needs the rub from John Cena on the way out is Brock Lesnar. You have a whole roster of guys that you can put him in there with to elevate them.

Bryan Alvarez continued, noting that while John Cena may have requested to work with Brock Lesnar, the decision to bring him back was very much Triple H’s:

The reason Brock Lesnar came in is that they decided they wanted him to come back. If they wanted to throw John Cena under the bus, like it’s all his idea, that’s fine. But it’s not John Cena’s decision; he can request it, but they made that decision.
