Triple H Keeping Key Vince McMahon WWE Rule

Vince McMahon is gone from WWE and it looks like he’ll never return but Triple H is keeping one rule in place introduced by the disgraced former chairman.

Vince McMahon has been accused of sexual assault and sex trafficking in a shocking lawsuit that has rocked the company. As a result, Vince McMahon was forced to resign as Executive Chairman of TKO leaving Triple H in charge of the wrestling side of the business.

This means 2024 is the first year that Triple H is the one making the final call on inductees for the WWE Hall of Fame. Paul Heyman was the first 2024 inductee announced and he has been followed by Bull Nakano, The U.S. Express, boxing legend Muhammad Ali, and Thunderbolt Patterson.

Triple H Sticking With Vince McMahon Idea

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Thunderbolt Patterson’s induction and explained why he thinks Triple H is keeping a rule put in place by Vince McMahon:

So it’s interesting that Thunderbolt is now allotted in the WWE Hall of Fame. The one thing that we learned is when Vince McMahon picked the Hall of Fame, they had a certain quota thing, which was there has to be a black wrestler, and there has to be a woman wrestler in every class.

And in the new Hall of Fame, it appears that that is the same thing. There’s one woman, which was Bull Nakano and Thunderbolt. So that’s the deal. Thunderbolt announced today, and then probably, I don’t know if it’d be tomorrow or Friday or whatever, but Lia Maivia [The Rock’s grandmother] will be announced as a promoter. Dwayne is gonna give the speech.

The Rock’s grandmother is expected to be announced for the WWE Hall of Fame imminently by the company. The Rock is believed to have had input on Hall of Fame inductions as well in his role on the TKO Board of Directors.
