Triple H Heat Allegedly Blocking Ex-WWE Champion’s Return

Triple H WWE

Could heat with Triple H really be what’s stopping WWE from bringing back a former champion in the company?

Hell froze over when CM Punk returned to WWE in 2023, almost a decade after he walked out of the company. It was a similar feeling for previous generations when The Ultimate Warrior made more than one comeback to the company despite infamously holding Vince McMahon up for more money before SummerSlam in 1991.

But could ill-feeling with Triple H be stopping former WWE Intercontinental Champion Zack Ryder – now better known as Matt Cardona – from making his own comeback with the company? Despite Cardona making very clear that he’d be open to a return even if he currently calls himself the “Indy God.”

Triple H Blocking Matt Cardona’s WWE Return?

Speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, former WWE and ECW star Stevie Richards claimed that the promotion doesn’t like it when talents get over with fans on their own, something Cardona has now made a career of:

It’s the wrestling thing, like the playing God thing. And I just feel like there’s something back when Hunter was a worker with Zack Ryder. There are still those bad feelings of how dare you get over on your own. They don’t like that. And now they hate him even more because he got over without even the WWE name.
