Trinity Reveals Why She Walked Out Of WWE
Trinity and Mercedes Mone were not names associated with WWE in May 2022 but the women who use them very much were.
Then known as Naomi and Sasha Banks respectively, the two stars were WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions when they decided enough was enough and they handed in their belts and left an episode of Raw despite being advertised for the show.
WWE took the unusual step of announcing the two women were suspended via a Michael Cole announcement to viewers on SmackDown that was widely pilloried afterward.
Now, Mercedes Mone has found her feet again in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Trinity recently made her debut for IMPACT Wrestling with neither woman nor WWE acknowledging their exit from the company.
Speaking to Busted Open Radio, however, Trinity has now broken her silence on her WWE departure and spells out exactly what caused her to walk out of Raw and the promotion after previously noting that it was a “blessing in disguise”:
“That’s what I meant when I said everything was a blessing in disguise because I was really going through a lot. I felt very stagnant and I wasn’t happy. Ultimately, I left that day because of the way I was talked to and handled. Everything kind of just broke me that day. It had nothing to do with anything else, anybody else. That was just it. I had to.
“To go through all the backlash and the negativity and the lies and the rumors and then to also kind of just feel lost, it broke me. It was probably the lowest I’ve ever felt in my life.
But going through that made me reset and face it head on and figure out how to learn from this experience and grow from it [and] just find myself again in all of it. I’m extremely happy now and really thankful for this opportunity to show that you haven’t seen me at my best yet.”
Trinity made her in-ring debut for IMPACT Wrestling on the 29th of April when she defeated one-half of the Knockouts Tag Team Champions, KiLynn King.
