Trinity Reacts To Friends Supporting Her Impact Debut
Trinity has opened up about what it meant to her for so many of her friends in pro wrestling to show up for her debut in IMPACT Wrestling.
After spending nearly 13 years as part of WWE using the name Naomi, Trinity now works for a different pro wrestling company – IMPACT Wrestling.
It was last Friday and Saturday in Chicago when Trinity made her IMPACT Wrestling debut, which aired last week on television. While the Chicago crowd showed her a lot of love, some of her friends from her WWE past were there too.
Mercedes Mone (former Sasha Banks in WWE) was on hand for Trinity’s Impact debut while WWE superstar Tamina was also there wearing a wig. Trinity is married to Jimmy Uso, who is a cousin of Tamina, so they are very close. Trinity and Mercedes left WWE together in May 2022 when they were frustrated during their run as the Women’s Tag Team Champions. Trinity also went to Japan earlier this year to support Mercedes making her NJPW debut as well.
There was even a CM Punk sighting backstage at IMPACT since it was in Chicago where he lives.
During an interview with TMZ Sports, Trinity spoke about getting that incredible support from her wrestling friends including Mercedes.
“It was everything. It gave me that extra boost that I needed to really follow through and do it because I was so scared. At one point, I was literally thinking, ‘How am I going to do this?’ Mercedes being there — she was there with me the entire weekend, just helping me, helping me pick out my outfits, talking to me, talking to me through things, buying glow sticks; she was just so incredible.”
“To have her there, I felt like everyone came to support me. I gotta show up. I gotta deliver, I gotta kick out, I gotta do this. I can do this. They really made me believe that I’m going to be okay and that I’m going to do well.”
Trinity would continue talking about the support and what it meant for Tamina to be there, as well as CM Punk and Samuray Del Sol (formerly Kalisto in WWE).
“Right before my match, Tamina comes walking in, and I turned around and just started crying because it’s so incredible for everyone to stop what they’re doing in their lives to come all the way here because they believe in me that much. It made me believe in myself a little bit more.”
“Then, too, CM Punk shows up and he comes in, and it was really cool to see him. He gives me a big hug and just knew that he was there, and got to see me, it was all so surreal. Then, Manny [Kalisto] was there and helping me with ideas. So much love and support. It was unbelievable. It was so surreal, and I’ll never forget it. It was really all I needed to go out there and turn on.”
