Travis Scott Pokes Fun At WWE Assault With New Merchandise
A new shirt being sold by Travis Scott and WWE could upset some fans because of what happened at Elimination Chamber.
It was John Cena and The Rock who got most of the headlines when Cena turned heel by kicking Cody Rhodes in the groin at the WWE Elimination Chamber PLE in Toronto. Cena turned on the Undisputed WWE Champion Rhodes after Rhodes told Rock “Go f**k yourself” when Rock wanted Rhodes to join The Final Boss on the dark side, so to speak.
After Cena knocked down Rhodes, he continued the attack on Rhodes while using a gold watch and Rock used a strap on Rhodes’ back as well. Rapper Travis Scott was also involved because he entered with The Rock at Elimination Chamber, so Scott is part of this new group as well.
During the attack on Rhodes, Scott smacked the WWE Champion hard in the head. The strike by Scott reportedly gave Rhodes a busted eardrum and a black eye, which was visible on WWE SmackDown although it’s certainly possible that was enhanced by WWE for television.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote about how Travis Scott was told to make his attack look good, but he made it look too good since he injured Rhodes.
Scott also blasted him with a slap to the head. That blow was apparently the one that legit broke Rhodes’ eardrum and left him with a black eye. As you can imagine, that got all kinds of heat backstage, with people noting that Scott shouldn’t have been out there nor put in that position in the first place. The one story is that Scott was told to make it look good but it was too good.
Travis Scott And WWE Selling “Wrestling Is Real” Shirt
To celebrate his involvement in the story, Travis Scott released a ‘Wrestling Is Real’ t-shirt in collaboration with WWE. It’s available on Scott’s website Shop.travisscott.com where the shirt is available for $55. The shirt is available on WWEShop for the same price as well.
Former WWE superstar Stevie Richards blasted Travis Scott in an online video calling him an “a**hole” among other things for hurting Rhodes during the attack.
Meanwhile, in a Triple H social media video, the WWE CCO can be seen talking to an excited Scott, who loved being a part of the final angle at Elimination Chamber.
