Toxic Attraction Pulled From Tag Title Tournament
NXT tag team Toxic Attraction have been pulled from the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament due to injury.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship has been somewhat snakebit since former champions Sasha Banks and Naomi decided to walk out of WWE and hand over their title belts.
With WWE under new management, a tournament was announced to crown new champions after three months of the championship lying dormant.
Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark from NXT were originally scheduled for the tournament but due to injury issues surrounding Stark and Lyons being “medically unavailable,” they were removed from the tournament to be replaced by Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne.
Toxic Attraction defeated Natalya and Sonya Deville to progress to the semi-finals of the tournament but that is where their run has been forced to stop. WWE announced that due to injuries suffered by Dolin that the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions have been removed from the tournament and will be replaced by the winners of a Second Chance Fatal 4-Way match on SmackDown.
