The tributes continue to pour in for John Cena.

On the November 10 episode of Monday Night Raw, John Cena ticked off one final career milestone. After being confronted by Dominik Mysterio in front of a hot crowd in Boston, Cena beat “Dirty Dom” to claim the Intercontinental Championship.

As a result, Cena has now won every major championship WWE has to offer, finally becoming a grand slam champion.

Following that win, Cena has just three matches left as an active WWE star.

He might be on the sidelines thanks to a recent surgery, but Seth Rollins has been keeping a keen eye on WWE and Cena’s impending retirement.

During his latest appearance on the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, Rollins took a minute to praise the veteran after being asked by a fan whether he’d rather team with Cena or Mick Foley.

Rollins highlighted Cena’s big win over Mysterio before declaring him a great friend and a great performer.

“John Cena is on his retirement run right now. Recently just won the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career this past Monday on RAW, beating ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio. He’s a Grand Slam Champion. He’s got two appearances left in his WWE career, Madison Square Garden coming up, and then Washington D.C., for Saturday Night’s Main Event in his final match.

John is a great friend. He is one of the greatest to ever do it. You can stack him against The Rock, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan — any of the Mount Rushmores, John Cena is on them. He’s a great human being. He’s been a mentor to me… John, hats off to you. A great career, a better friend, better performer. You’re the best, dude. I love you…”

Meanwhile, in October, Seth Rollins revealed that he expects to be out of action for around six months after undergoing shoulder surgery. Rollins suffered the injury in his match with Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel in Australia.

With WrestleMania 42 taking place on April 18 and 19, 2026, this means that there is still a chance that Rollins could compete at the event.

Rollins and Cena last shared the ring at Elimination Chamber back in March. They last met in a televised singles match in June 2016.
