Top WWE Star Leaves Survivor Series Angrily
One of the participants in the Survivor Series main event apparently wasn’t happy about something at the show.
In the main event of WWE Survivor Series in Chicago, two teams of five men headlined the card in a WarGames grudge match.
The team of Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso beat The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh and their ally for one night, Drew McIntyre.
It was a match that ended when Orton hit a scintillating RKO on McDonagh, who was thrown off the top of the cage into Orton’s waiting arms in the ring. Rhodes hit the Cross Rhodes on Priest and pinned him for the win.
After the match, former WWE Champion CM Punk made his return to the company after nearly ten years away from the company.
What wasn’t shown on camera is that former two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre apparently wasn’t happy about something and stormed out of the arena, according to a report from PWInsider.
Drew McIntyre Left WWE Survivor Series Very Quickly
The report from PWInsider noted that Drew McIntyre stormed to the backstage area after the match was over. Drew slammed his locker room door, threw on a Hoodie and immediately left the Allstate Arena in Chicago.
It was added that McIntyre’s anger was visible to everybody who saw him while noting that it was a “loud and obvious situation” witnessed by a lot of people.
There is a lot of guessing about why McIntyre is angry ranging from the return of CM Punk due to some wrestlers not liking him, but it also could be related to his own contract status or perhaps something that went wrong in the match.
Earlier in the day, PWInsider reported that McIntyre has yet to re-sign with WWE with his contract set to expire around WrestleMania time in 2024. They noted that Drew could even let his contract expire and take a break from wrestling to spend more time with his family.
