Top WWE Star Embarrassed By Famous Match

Sometimes life in WWE doesn’t go to plan.

At SummerSlam 2021, Bianca Belair was scheduled to defend her SmackDown Women’s Title against Sasha Banks (Mercedes Mone). However, right before the match was about to start it was announced that Banks was unable to compete, and she was replaced by Carmella.

But with Carmella in the ring, Becky Lynch made her WWE return after more than a year out following the birth of her first child. The Man quickly dispatched Carmella, and then the match was set between herself and Belair.

With fans anticipating an epic, Lynch promptly beat Belair in 26 seconds — a move it came out later than no one was especially happy with.

In a new interview with The Metro, Belair called the match her most embarrassing WWE moment, revealing her family was sat in the front row.

“26 seconds at SummerSlam, that’s the most embarrassed I’ve ever been.

My parents were in the audience, they didn’t know what was going on, they had no idea what was happening. I felt really bad for them.

Ooh no, I would actually love to, it’d be really cool if I could – I know that I can, but I don’t have any time!”

The match kick-started a lengthy rivalry between the two women that saw Belair beat Lynch at WrestleMania 38.

Bianca Belair Will Never Hate WWE Rival

In a different interview back in June, Bianca Belair opened up about her relationship with Becky Lynch, and what it was like working with The Man.

Belair said Lynch is someone she holds close to her heart, especially after reading in her autobiography how she stood up for her backstage. The EST added that Lynch is an “amazing person,” and that nobody could ever make her hate her.

Becky Lynch is currently a free agent after letting her most recent contract expire. If and when she returns to WWE, the star is expected to become the highest-paid female performer in history.
