Top WWE Star Eager To Face CM Punk

CM Punk WWE

A name from CM Punk’s past wants to get back in the ring with him.

CM Punk started his career all the way back in 1997 before becoming a cult hero in Ring of Honor. Punk dominated ROH’s man event scene during the promotion’s golden era before heading to WWE in 2005.

During this period, Punk wrestled an acclaimed series of matches with Samoa Joe and clashed with Bryan Danielson, AJ Styles, and Kevin Owens among others. Now that Punk is very much in the veteran stage of his career, many of these names from the past are looking for one more shot at their former rival.

One such name is Kevin Owens who became something of an ROH legend in his own right before becoming one of WWE’s biggest stars.

Speaking to India Today, Owens commented on the similarities between the pair.

“We’re both guys that probably, you know, have done things their own way, in a sense. But there’s probably a lot that we’re very different on as well, so I think it’s a little bit of both,”

KO added that he’s sure their in-ring rivalry isn’t over just yet.

“I’m sure we’ll end up in the ring together at some point. It seems, uh, like there’s no way we wouldn’t,”

CM Punk Misses Out On Royal Rumble Win

The 2024 Royal Rumble might have been a huge night for WWE, but it was a night that both Punk and Owens would like to forget.

In the main event, CM Punk was denied victory in the men’s Rumble match by winner Cody Rhodes. The duo were the final two men left in the match, but when all was said and done, it was Punk who left empty-handed.

Earlier in the night, Kevin Owens missed out on the chance to become United States Champion after being disqualified as he took on champion Logan Paul. After interference from an associate of Paul’s, Austin Theory, and Grayson Waller, Owens had enough and managed to lay out the champion with brass knuckles. However, the referee noticed the weapon on Owens’ hand during the pin and disqualified him.
