Top TNA Star Challenges Randy Orton At WrestleMania
A former WWE star returned to challenge Randy Orton.
In his 23 years on the main roster, Randy Orton has seen just about everything, but even so, his run to WrestleMania 41 must have put him on the back foot.
After being taken out of action by Kevin Owens, Orton returned to get revenge at Elimination Chamber. As the tension between the pair showed no sign of dissipating, a grudge match was set for WrestleMania 41. But fate had other plans.
On the April 4 edition of SmackDown, Kevin Owens announced that he needed neck surgery and wouldn’t be able to compete at WrestleMania. In fact, there have been suggestions could even miss WrestleMania 42 in 2026.
With Owens out of action, Orton clashed with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis before it was confirmed he’d be making an open challenge at WrestleMania. A challenge that was answered by a surprising name.
Randy Orton Said His Name
As the saying goes, if you say his name, he appears, but despite the lack of announcement, Joe Hendry made his WrestleMania debut to face Randy Orton.
The TNA World Champion received a great reaction from the crowd, but unfortunately for the proud Scotsman, that wasn’t enough to carry him to victory.
Although Hendry got some limited offence in, he was quickly felled by an RKO, and then given another after the bell for good measure.
