Top Ring Of Honor Star Undergoing Surgery

Eddie Kingston has been part of the Ring of Honor roster in recent months after apparently growing weary with issues as part of AEW.

Kingston unsuccessfully challenged Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship at Supercard of Honor back at the end of March 2023 but has been forced out of the ring ever since.

At the Ring of Honor TV tapings held on May 7th, Eddie Kingston addressed the crowd and told them that he was undergoing surgery for a hernia on Tuesday, May 9th, and will miss time from the ring as a result. The star estimated that he’d be gone for six weeks while he recovers.

Eddie Kingston had originally been set to compete at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Collision in Philadelphia event on the 16th of April but had to withdraw from that card due to injury.

The star “quit” AEW back at the beginning of March 2023 and has been a firm fixture in Ring of Honor since. Kingston’s last match under the AEW banner was the Face of the Revolution ladder match which was won by Powerhouse Hobbs but also featured Action Andretti, AR Fox, Komander, Konosuke Takeshita, Ortiz, and Sammy Guevara. Kingston and his former tag team partner Ortiz brawled to the back early on and took themselves out of the running to win as a result.
