Top IMPACT Wrestling Star Departs Company (SPOILER)
One of the biggest names in IMPACT Wrestling has ended their current run following the company’s recent television tapings.
In the main event of IMPACT Wrestling’s Slammiversary event this past Saturday, Nick Aldis challenged Alex Shelley for the company’s World Heavyweight Title. While some people might have thought there would be a title change, Shelley found a way to retain the title.
After the match, Shelley was celebrating with the IMPACT World Heavyweight Title when the former champion Josh Alexander confronted him and declared that he is back. Alexander has been out of action with a torn triceps four months ago.
On Sunday night in Windsor, Ontario, IMPACT Wrestling held TV tapings to cover multiple weeks of shows. At the taping, Aldis lost to Eric Young, who just returned to the company at Slammiversary.
It is now being reported by PWInsider Elite that Nick Aldis has finished up with IMPACT Wrestling. As of now, that match with Young was his last scheduled appearance with IMPACT Wrestling.
The report also added that Zicky Dice also finished up his run with the company after working for them since 2021.
Nick Aldis is a former TNA/IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion (from when he was using the name “Magnus”) and a former Tag Team Champion.
There have been reports earlier this year about WWE having an interest in signing Nick Aldis, but due to the “hiring freeze” that has been going on since Endeavor acquired WWE in April, the company hasn’t been hiring people for the main roster.
Recently, it was reported that former WWE superstar Carlito was returning to the company, which could mean the hiring freeze is close to ending, which could be why Aldis is done with IMPACT Wrestling.
