Top AEW Star Drops Fresh Retirement Hint
An AEW veteran knows the end of their career is near.
At Forbidden Door, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are set to team together for the first time in 14 years. In recent weeks, Copeland has supported Cage as he looks for revenge on FTR, setting up the popular reunion.
The pair were due to face Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian, but Wayne was forced to pull out through injury. This set up the shock return of Killswitch, who has been out of action for over a year.
Killswitch will now take Wayne’s place in London.
Adam Copeland In Reflective Mood Ahead Of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door
In a new post on social media, Copeland looked ahead to his return to the ring in the UK. The veteran highlighted how long it’s been since he wrestled on that side of the Atlantic, adding that he’s begun treating every match overseas like it might be his last in that city.
“The last time I wrestled in London was 2010 against @chrisjerichofozzy and Jake Hagar(Jack Swagger) for the World Heavyweight Championship. I’ve had a long drought here. Tomorrow that all changes when I team up with @christian4peeps for the first time since 2011 at @aew#forbiddendoor2025 vs @thekipsabian and Killswitch.
I’ve seen some familiar faces and had some really nice interactions with the folks here this week. It’s good to see you all again. I have to treat every time I perform abroad as the last time I could wrestle in that city. So tomorrow I plan to soak it all in. Bring some loud lungs London. Let’s have some fun.”
In March 2024, Adam Copeland admitted he nearly retired following his final WWE match against Sheamus before even signing with AEW. Even after becoming All Elite, the star has repeatedly suggested that he won’t wrestle beyond 2026.
Tony Khan has already confirmed that All In will return to the UK in 2026 after spending 2025 in Texas.
