Top AEW Star Wants To Use One Of His Characters In A Movie

AEW

A top AEW star thinks he has developed a persona that could turn into a successful movie character.

Chris Jericho is a man that has accomplished a lot during his 30+ year career as a pro wrestler. Whether he was in WCW as a conspiracy victim or his many WWE personas as Y2J, the suit-wearing/scarf guy that trashed the fans at all times or the man with The List, Jericho has been a master of reinvention.

During his four-plus years in AEW, Chris Jericho has had a few different personas a well from the leader of the Inner Circle for a few years and now he’s running the Jericho Appreciation Society. Jericho also developed a persona that he also used in New Japan Pro Wrestling called the Painmaker.

As the Painmaker, which Jericho has done in AEW as well, he dresses up in a leather jacket that has spikes on it along with some unique black face paint. A photo of Jericho’s Painmaker look can be seen below.

In an interview with The Rick & Cutter Show, Jericho talked about his visions for the Painmaker character.

“I just put out a comic book for a character that I played in Japan called the Painmaker. It’s a wrestling character that I made a comic book character with the end game being a Painmaker movie because I’m sick of Batman, Superman, Spider-Man movies. Sooner or later, someone has to create a new superhero, so I created this Painmaker character. ‘You want to do a movie?’ Yeah, I’m going to do a movie. What do you think about that?”

“You just get the confidence to know there is always a way to make things work if you believe in it and want to do it, then go do it. Don’t make excuses why it’s not going to happen, find out the reasons how you can make it work and then make it go happen.”

As for what’s next, Chris Jericho will have a contract signing with Adam Cole this Wednesday on Dynamite ahead of their clash at Double or Nothing next Sunday night, March 28th.
