Tony Khan Believes Opportunities On The Way For ROH
2024 has been a major year for AEW but Tony Khan thinks there could be major opportunities on the way for his other promotion, Ring of Honor.
AEW signed a multi-year deal with Warner Bros Discovery to keep Dynamite and Collision on their current homes for at least three more years. The new deal begins in 2025 and will mean the end of Rampage but AEW has apparent plans to introduce another show but nothing has materialised as of yet.
However, it seems Tony Khan also has plans for Ring of Honor. Since Tony Khan bought Ring of Honor in 2022, critics have hit out at Khan’s running of the promotion and the lack of focus on it. But big things could still be in ROH’s future.
Tony Khan Hopes For Big Things For ROH
Speaking on the Sports Guys Talk Wrestling podcast, Tony Khan claimed that there is currently a lot of interest in Ring of Honor and there could be a deal in its future as well:
It’s a great company. I love ROH, and I think that really, for us, it’s important to look at, there’s a great opportunity to grow Ring of Honor as we grow AEW. AEW just secured this huge media rights deal, and it’s a complimentary thing to have another great wrestling promotion with that history.
I do think there’s a lot of interest right now in Ring of Honor. I’ve had great conversations about TV partnerships with ROH, and I think as AEW continues to grow, there’s going to be more great opportunities for ROH in streaming and television.
ROH Final Battle will take place on December 20th 2024 as Chris Jericho defends his ROH World Championship against a surprise challenger.
