Tony Khan Names Two New Destinations For AEW
Tony Khan has plans to increase AEW’s international profile.
In recent years, North America’s big two promotions have taken on an increasingly international flavour.
This has seen WWE take events to the UK, Australia, France, Germany, and Saudi Arabia, while AEW has also visited the UK, Mexico, and Australia.
Back in April, it was announced that AEW would return to Australia on February 14, 2026, for Grand Slam Sydney. However, on this occasion, the event will be followed by an untelevised House Rules live show 24 hours later.
This was followed by the news that AEW will return to the UK in December. This will include holding the December 13 edition of Collision at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff, before heading to Manchester for Dynamite four days later.
But that isn’t the extent of the company’s international dreams.
Tony Khan Thinking Big
During a new interview with Sportico, Khan was more specific about his plans for international expansion, especially in Europe. He highlighted that AEW has never run events in France or Germany, and that’s something he’d love to change.
“There’s great talent pools in Mexico, England, Japan, great places to recruit pro wrestlers, a lot of great wrestlers out of Canada. These are great markets for us, but there’s also some untapped markets.
We’ve never done a show in France. I’d love to go to Paris for AEW, and all over France. I’d love to go to Germany, which has a great wrestling market. There’s a lot of great wrestling fans in Germany. I think that’d be a great place for us to have AEW at some point.”
Next up for AEW is Blood & Guts on November 12, and for the first time ever, the special will include men’s and women’s matches inside the double cage.
